Our story starts in 1977, when Arthur Wright and Associates was established. In 1982 the firm was renamed Wright and Barnes Investments when Lynn Barnes, CFP®, joined Arthur, her father. Together, Lynn and Arthur developed a reputation for going above and beyond to help Schenectady County residents with all their financial and investment needs.
In 2018, after 37 years as Wright and Barnes Investments, Lynn joined forces with Travis Kellman, MSFP, CFP®, CRPC®, EA, to create Kellman Barnes Financial Planning. This partnership ensured clients would have access to advisors for generations to come. Travis plays a key role in our organization. In addition to advising clients, Travis as President, sets the vision for the firm and ensures Kellman Barnes continues to live up to our core values of integrity, empathy, personal and professional development, having fun, people first, teamwork, keeping an open mind and providing agency.
In 2020, Angela “Angie” DeZalia-Diacovo, joined the team as Kellman Barnes Financial Planning's Operations Specialist. Angie ensures everything is running smoothly behind the scenes of Kellman Barnes.
In 2022, Raymond “Ray” Zegger, CFP®, MBA, joined the team as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He officially became a Partner in 2023, so in addition to advising clients he also helps manage the direction of the firm. Ray provides financial planning and investment advice to the firm's clients. By working with Ray, our clients will continue to receive the personal attention and sound financial advice they have grown to expect from Kellman Barnes.
In 2024, William "Billy" Barry, CFP®, MBA, joined the team as an Associate/CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Billy uses his knowledge and experience to support Travis and Ray and the firm's clients.
Kellman Barnes Financial Planning has grown over the years to serve Schenectady County residents and beyond, including clients in almost all 50 states. As of 12/31/2023, Kellman Barnes Financial Planning manages or administers over $200,000,000 in client assets.
